There are three distinct stages in a project: pre-production, production and post-production.
Pre-Production (script/schedule/budget)
In this first stage we talk about your objectives and what you want to achieve. We look at target audience and discuss the overall mood, tone and pace you’re after.
With budget in mind, the scripting process begins. This is the most important part of the process because it provides the framework on which to build the program. Once completed, we present you with a package of materials consisting of a finished script, shooting schedules and any other information you might need for your particular project.
Once we have script approval, production can begin.
Production (location filming)
Productions vary in length, sometimes wrapping up in a single day or taking up to several weeks. They can be produced in high or standard definition and can use equipment such as cranes, camera tracks and lighting. Crew sizes vary due to content and location requirements. For documentary-style programs we tend to use a small crew so as not to overwhelm our interviewees and to help maintain the most authentic environment we can.
Post-Production (editing)
One to three weeks after shooting ends an initial edit of the project will be submitted. This is usually presented on DVD as well as being available online (password protected) for client review. After approval or revision, fine tuning the edit begins including audio mixing and visual affects.
